These instructions show you how to make a origami airplane. This origami airplane model is based on the Phoenix airplane design. This airplane is not only easy to fold but it’s also a toy aircraft glider that when folded properly can fly level and smooth over long distances. After you are done learning how to make a paper airplane with origami paper; have some fun by taking it out for a flight.

- It’s ok to start over.
Paper Setup
- If one side of your paper is white then start with the white side of the paper facing up.
- If your paper has color on both sides then start with the color you want to be the main color facing down.

Important: Follow the “Paper Setup” instructions first.
Start with the main color side down. In the picture we want the airplane’s main color to be blue.

Fold the paper in half vertically from left to right.

Unfold the paper.

Step: 4 of 18
Fold the top right corner onto the vertical crease.

Step: 5 of 18
Fold the top left corner onto the vertical crease.

Fold the top point down to create a horizontal crease with the previous 2 folds.

Fold the top right point of the paper halfway down on the triangle crease.

Fold the top left point of the paper halfway down on the triangle crease.

Fold the bottom point of the center triangle until it is aligned with the edges of the last two folds.

Turn the paper over from left to right.

Fold the paper in half vertically from left to right.

Rotate the paper left and lay the paper flat.

Fold the top flap of the paper to align with the bottom of the paper.

Turn the paper over from left to right.

Fold the top flap of the paper to align with the bottom of the paper.

Fold the airplane’s wings so that they make a corner with the center of the airplane.
